API Configuration for Facebook

Warning! Facebook is having HTTPs connection as one of the requirements (it sucks). If you do not have ability to enable SSL certification on your website, then it will not be possible to configure authorization using this social network.

  • Login to Facebook
  • Go to My Apps page
  • Click on “Add a New App” button
  • A new modal window should be open, such as this:

  • Enter all details and after application created you should be redirected to the dashboard
  • On the left menu click “Settings” and in the opened dropdown choose “Basic”
  • In “Privacy Policy URL” field enter URL to your Privacy Policy URL

  • In “App Domains” enter website without “www” and “http” or “https”, e.g. anycomment.io
  • Enter “Contact Email”
  • Click “Save Changes”
  • Copy “Callback URL” from AnyComment

  • Go back to app settings
  • In the left menu find “Products”
  • Under the header, you should see “Facebook Login”, click on it, should thne see “Settings”
  • Inside find “Valid OAuth Redirect URIs” and enter copied “Callback URL” from above
  • Click “Save Changes”
  • At the very top, find “Status”, it should be “ON”.  Should be written “Status: Live“, if not move checkbox to make it green
  • In the left menu, select “Settings” → “Basic”
  • Copy “App ID” and “App Secret”, we will need this in the plugin

Your Website

  • Go to admin panel of your website
  • In the left sidebar, find “AnyComment”, click on it
  • Go to “Socials” tab
  • Inside open “Facebook” tab and enter copied “App ID” and “App Secret”
  • Сlick checkbox “Allow Facebook authorization” (otherwise users will not see Facebook option)
  • Click “Save”
